 This Adirondack Chair and Ottoman combination is a favorite with people who like to put their feet up when relaxing outside. This adirondack plan is a favorite with woodworkers and summerime loungers, and with good reason.
For woodworkers, this simple adirondack chair and ottoman project can be built with basic tools and materials. The chair is constructed from dimensional, rough-sawn cedar, which has one smooth face and one rough face (readily available at home centers and lumber yards). The chair is built using only a jigsaw, a drill, some woodscrews, and a bit of construction adhesive.
For summertime loungers, the adirondack chair has a comfortable, contoured seat and back. And the adirondack ottoman lets you stretch out your legs and really unwind. To complete your comfy place in the sun, you may want to build the optional table (plans included).
The overall size of the adirondack chair is 32" wide x 35-1/2" deep x 40-3/4" high. The chair in the photo was made of cedar and finished with penetrating oil to preserve the wood's natural color. But we include guidelines for a traditional finish with a good coat of primer and paint.
